CP United is the new champion of the 12th International CP Football Trophy “Ciutat de Barcelona”

The club capped off an unbelievable season by winning the 12th FECPC International Trophy in Barcelona beating Chile 2-1 in a pulsating final on Sunday 11 June.

The tournament got underway on the Thursday with two groups of four. In their first outing CP United ground out a 4-1 victory against a theatrical Jordan side. On day two, CP United dispatched Austria by six goals to nil leaving the Manchester club the only team in group B on six points.

The final group games were played on the Saturday and it was a winner takes all scenario against Ireland as qualification depended on the head-to-head result. A clinical performance meant they won 6-0 again. The victory ensured qualification to the final against pre-tournament favourites Chile.

The final didn’t disappoint, despite the 31 degree heat, CP United raised to the challenge to put another trophy in their cabinet.
