Barcelona 2018 – 13th FECPC Tournament

June 14, 2018

A fantastic trip to Barcelona this year at the FECPC Tournament, lots of learning and development.

Game Day 1 – We had a tough start v Scotland. Played some fantastic stuff first half, lots of learning second half for a very young team. Finished 6-3 to Scotland. Lots of compliments from them and we are proud of the lads for their performance and reflection which will definitely help them to keep developing.

Game Day 2 -Great result v Denmark after making hard work of the first half, we did much better in the second and scored some good goals. Lots of learning again. Finished 3-1 to CPU.

Game Day 3 – The lads did themselves and the club proud v Argentina.
We lost 3-0 but their effort, discipline out of possession and courage to get on the ball and play was a pleasure to watch and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

Game day 4 v Catalonia: final score 4-2.
We made hard work of this one but ground out the result in the end. LOTS of lessons on and off the pitch!…which is always a good thing

Congratulations to Josh Power who got players player of the tournament…the staff couldn’t agree more! Josh is a legend on and off the pitch (not sure about his singing though!)

Also a big thank you to Sam Mcgovern-Scott our captain who has stepped up to this role with class, humility and a fantastic willingness to learn & develop his own game as well wanting to be a positive role model for the whole club. Top man all round!

Lastly a special mention to Dan Mcgarrigan who was so unfortunate to break his foot 3 weeks before we went, we missed him on the pitch! but he chose to still come and support his team mates and had the attitude to still learn all he could whilst he was there.

A very big thank you to all involved in fundraising and supporting their team during this event.
