With the sad passing of The Queen yesterday we are cancelling adult training at Partington tomorrow and having to postpone the St George’s Park trip. (new date to be confirmed ASAP )
It has been a day of waiting for guidance, clarity and confirmation from our governing body the FA and also liaising with St George’s Park. Please see below the updates we have received throughout the afternoon. In theory we could still “train” however the decision that the football family as a whole has taken is ultimately about Respect for Her Majesty.
We as a club and charity who hold Respect as one of our key values feel it only right that we take this decision not to go ahead with our planned training this weekend. We understand people will be disappointed, some might even disagree with us not training. Please know this hasn’t been taken lightly as we are looking forward to getting back to football just as much as you all are.
We hope you understand and ask that everyone demonstrate our other club values of Kindness and Compassion, along with Respect as this is a situation that none of us have been in before and we are doing the best we can in keeping with etiquette and as I’ve said, the values we have at CP United FC.As you can imagine we’ve been inundated with massages today from people understandably asking what is happening. That’s been tricky to manage whilst at work and trying to get clarity on an unprecedented situation, so we really appreciate your patience and understanding about our lack of reply to all your messages.
We will send out a mass text and contact all who were due to attend tomorrow, however we will not be replying personally to all the texts, voicemails and emails we’ve received today as we’d be here until midnight. We hope you understand.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all next week
